Boost control based on vehicle speed

Postby wicked » Sun Nov 08, 2009 5:27 pm

I guess I will be the first to ask aquestion in this section. I am looking for information on what I need to do to be able to use the ABS sensor on a non drive wheel for speed reading to control boost. The car is a 1993 Honda Civic with a B18C Turbocharged engine setup for drag racing. Any help would be greatly appretiated.

I have some questions to ask you, so that I can better answer yours.

Will this be a series 1 or the new series 2 EMS?
If this is series 1, will you be using the 1050, 1060, universal or other EMS?
Are we talking about a US car or is the car from another country?
Is the sensor/wheel already mounted, or are you asking about installing one?

Using a series 1 ECU.
Will be using a 1040 ECU.
It is a US spec vehicle.
The car is already equiped with the ABS sensor.

So you are going to use it as a type of traction control? Is this the goal?

You could go gear based as well and it would have the same type effect.

Its for use on a front wheel drive drag car, we have tried doing it per gear, but still get too much wheelspin. I know of a few cars running this setup but they are not willing to share information. Just looking to have more adjustment points than just each gear.
